“Truly a log cabin in the woods - peaceful, comfortable, clean, great way to sit back and enjoy nature.”

“Enjoyed a quick weekend getaway on the lake in Newcastle. It was a great place to rest and watch the changing season with beautiful islands and fishing all close to town for oysters, a river cruise, and a nearby brewery. Appreciate that you are dog-friendly as well!”

“Cabin was just as it was described. Everything we needed. Stairs down to the water could use some maintenance. The dock and water were fantastic. My kids loves going out to the island. Overall great property. Would definitely come back.”

“Great location. Clean. Property was as advertised. However, would not return unless owner replaced master bedroom mattress. The mattress is completely broken down and awoke every morning with a terrible stiff back.Also, there seems to be a black beatle infestation as I killed over a dozen of the little critters in a week. Mostly found in the bathroom and living room area.”

“Place was wonderful! The pictures didn’t do it justice. There were very clear instructions regarding everything at the cabin. Hosts were great! We would definitely stay here again. ”

“I was here from June 28th through July 30th, and, with one notable exception [the locks], I quite enjoyed my experience and highly recommend it. If the single exception can be remedied, I will definitely consider returning next year.”

“The cabin was wonderful. It was a little chilly the first night. But Peter was great and brought a couple of heaters over. The cabin has a wood burning fireplace. Peter supplied a lot of wood for it. Which we did use it all. Sorry Peter. Great location for visiting the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and Boothbay. And we got to see the Northern Lights with the naked eye! The highlight of the trip! Would definitely stay again! ”

“My mid-October stay at Little Thumb was everything I hoped for and more: plenty of peace and quiet, an immaculate and comfortable place to stay, and beautiful surroundings in which to birdwatch from the dock, read, and take long walks. I especially enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, comfy queen bed, and big gas heating stove in the living room that kept me toasty, even temps dipped into the 40s. And Natalie certainly deserves her rating as a top host!”
