“We had the best time here. Very close to stores, beaches and anything else you might need. The house was very clean and smelled amazing. Communication with host was very easy and fast responses. “We had a lovely 5 night stay at Marianne’s Houghton Lake House. There were 8 adults and one 8 year old. This was the start of what I hope will be an annual family getaway tradition! The Lake House was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and all the pots and pans you would need. We cooked all but 1 of our meals at the house! “What can I say, this place was darn near perfect! The location makes this place feel so secluded. Even though there's another house close, the trees screen it so well. The neighbors were very quiet too. The lake itself was so peaceful. We were able to kayak all around the lake without worrying about boat traffic. Plenty of wildlife all around. We saw bald eagles, loons, cranes, herons, woodpeckers, turtles, frogs, deer, etc. so nice to be able to see so much wildlife! The house can sleep an……

“Very nice property with an easy 1-2 minute walk to the water. Plenty of parking, most kitchen needs/accessory’s (no coffee grinder but there was a small chopper upstairs that substituted), also had a need for a first aid kit but none found so might want to bring one along. If you are at all picky about your pillows, you might want to bring your own as well. The house was clean but certain details were overlooked (dusty lamps, dust and dirt under couches/beds). The property apparently changed……

We had plans to go on some day trips but cancelled all of them because of how much we enjoyed the stay.The rooms were clean and main living area was perfect for our kids to run around and relax.We LOVED being able to walk down to the beach and play multiple times a day. “Really didn’t get to take in the full effect of Silver Lake, as this was just used as a mid way destination to the UP. However the cottage was very nice and cozy! Hot tub was nice and warm. Would visit again!”
