“We (a party of 14, ages ranging from 10 to 86 years old) enjoyed our NYE stay on Black Mountain. Place was super clean and so roomy! Kitchens had everything we needed. Kelley was a great host and answered all our questions before and while we were there! My parents are still talking about how perfect the house was! I will say the driveway is very steep. Most of the vehicles were unable to make the climb up the drive. Luckily the road isn't busy so we parked below and walked up. ……

“We had a great stay at the Relax & Play Chalet. First time to this area - we enjoyed a day of skiing just around the corner at Hatley Pointe and hiking Big Bald Mountain (right there in the neighborhood). The place was incredibly clean and well appointed for everything we needed for a cozy cabin getaway. We watched deer from the picture window in the bedroom, enjoyed a cozy fire and played games in the evening with the kids. Any question/issue that came up, we had almost immediate communication……

“We have been vacationing in Burnsville for the past four years & decided this year to choose a house in town rather than one on a river. The Grandview Lodge was amazing with close proximity to downtown Burnsville & gorgeous mountain views from the decks. We took advantage of the half mile walk to Main Street and enjoyed shopping as well as lunch/dinner at Snap Dragon, Roland’s, Carriage Sundries, Pacifico & Homeplace. We also appreciated the ease of getting to Mount Mitchell State Park, Linville……

“We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was nicely decorated, and not overly so. And I love to cook, even on vacation, and really appreciated the cabinet full of various spices. We found out that the "keys to your trip" email did not provide the access info to the home and that the owner typically provides that the morning of check-in. We had such a long drive on the day of check-in that we would have preferred the info before the arrival day, and for that reason, I did not give a "5" for……
