“Great little friendly and great vale B&B / Hotel snack in the centre of Leyburn. Friendly staff, breakfast and dinners really good value and a great place to stay!!”
“Lovely spacious stay at this pub for my family, loved the little touches.. fresh milk in the room, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Large comfy beds. Staff were very friendly, and we had dinner here too which was delicious and well priced.
Only thing that let it down were the light curtains giving us an early wake up, a black out blind would be a perfect addition!
Well located for Forbidden Corner and Druids Temple. ”
“The Holly Inn is a beautiful place. Atmosphère and staff friendly and helpful… phone first if you need to eat !
Room was clean beds ok and sheets although pillow had a blood stain( droplet on it)
Although I paid for better room was given a cheaper one upstairs. Here the room smelt of fried cooking and bathroom whilst clean was old and mouldy in the corners .. water from shower good. I would stay in this room again at the cheaper rate. Not full . Lovely garden for dog and our furry friends……
“Friendly and lovely place. Our room was small but it had everything we needed. Jo kindly left us croissants and yogurts for the morning and was very flexible with check-in. Askrigg is a beautiful village. It’s certainly worth a visit if you are a fan of James Harriott!”
“Due to many delays, we didn't arrive until very late, but Jane made sure our room was lit and welcoming. We were staying in the barn and the room was perfect. Beds comfortable and shower prrssure was strong. Breakfast was excellent, good coffee. ”
“Showing some signs of wear but still plenty of evidence of its former glory days, rooms were comfortable and staff efficient. Breakfast choice was good and cooked food tasty. The toaster is a learning challenge! Central location can make parking another challenge but readily available free discs allow a 2 hour Market Place stay for loading/unloading. The castle and riverside are close by, accessed by steep slopes.”
“Fantastic accommodation, clean, well maintained, friendly and very helpful staff, superb service. Room beautiful and well dressed. Food exceptional. ”
“What a stunning location! The rooms and service are excellent and we had a great stay. The food was generous and tasty. I'd certainly recommend The Punch Bowl as an ideal location to explore Swaledale. ”
“Property is very old. Our room was completely lopsided so wouldn’t be good for someone with mobility issues. Needs a bit of spruce up as the photos don’t show the property’s current condition. Carpets need replacing and flooring in bathroom had cracked tiles. Very quiet though and couldn’t hear the noisy pubs around which were playing loud music with noisy shouting in the gardens. Windows have secondary glazing which kept it quiet. Breakfast was nice but tables close together. Property asked for……
“3rd visit this year ( january, april and May). Obviously we like it and the surroundings very much. Excellent breakfast and service. Rooms Keld and Thwaite are our regulars. not ensuite but not a problem as both have private bathrooms opposite.Never had an evening meal here as fine dining not our style. However they do have a limited menu for regular options earlier in the afternoon, early evening. Lovely setting on the Green with fantastic views. Hard to fault except for the building fabric (……
“Been here many times before the new owners took over . Pleased to say the boys are doing a fab job . Decoration bought upto date without spoiling the old y worldly feel to the place . Dog loved it . He even had a bottle of doggy wine left in the room !! Will see us definitely again . ”
“Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. This is the 5th time we have been and will definitely be returning. The rooms are immaculate and the food is gorgeous. The staff make us feel so welcome every time. ”
