“This bed and breakfast excelled beyond all expectations! The property is exceptionally beautiful with many historic features scarcely seen except in museums of great old houses. Our host couldn't have been more wonderful and he helped us out after a long ride on the Erie Canal Trail. The amenities were excellent. I would go to Fort Plain just to stay there again. There is a family feel to the inner courtyard/parking, as some residents make use of their porch while children pet visiting dogs. They told me the heat in the room I was given possibly didn’t work and had provided a heater which actually wasn’t needed since heat was indeed working. “We booked one night originally and then the next night at a later date on a 3rd party site. Bambi was able to get our reservations merged so we could stay in the same room. I didn’t know the 3rd party booked 2 different room types but we just had to check in and out and all was good. ”
