My husband says the dinner was the finest he ever had, and I appreciated all the little things that made our travel easier (ice for coolers, a shared frig, absolutely lovely and plentiful bedding). We would definitely stay there again!”

“This bed and breakfast excelled beyond all expectations! The property is exceptionally beautiful with many historic features scarcely seen except in museums of great old houses. Our host couldn't have been more wonderful and he helped us out after a long ride on the Erie Canal Trail. The amenities were excellent. I would go to Fort Plain just to stay there again. “Staying at this bed and breakfast was like stepping into another time. The mansion is beautifully preserved, and every room has its own unique personality, like an art gallery at every turn. Even the music playing throughout the mansion during breakfast made you feel transported. Jim and Susie were so warm and welcoming. They waited up for us when we arrived late, gave us a thoughtful tour, and somehow still had the energy to make us feel completely at home. Over breakfast the next morning……
