“We stayed the weekend for a college reunion- this is our 5th stay - and it keeps getting better. Friday night we had a small get together before heading out to local restaurants and all who stopped by commented on how beautiful the house was and how great the location is. Both inside and outside were great- was a great venue for the 8 of us who stayed. Already looking at dates for the next get together- and making a reservation for “the house” will be top on the list of to dos. ”

“I had an issue getting into my room after returning and the staff was very gracious and put me into a dofferent room and drove 30 minutes to help rescue me so i could get my belongings from the room. I would stay here again. Has wonderful historic charm. ”

“We loved the deck and were so impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the house! Very cozy and comfortable. Would highly recommend!”

“Our stay was amazing! We enjoyed all the space inside and out! My grandkids loved watching the big trucks come around the corner. We did venture out to Houston for the Owl Sanctuary, that was fun along with their city park! Walking distance from downtown and shopping!! Loved it and hopefully will be back!The fireflies were a huge hit!! And the 3 resident bunnies were a hit with my granddaughter!!”

“The staff at the hotel were so friendly and knowledgeable. We did not know any of the history of the hotel or town when we booked our stay and everyone was so kind in welcoming us and sharing with us the unique history! Highly recommend staying here for a few nights to tour all the town has to offer.”

“We had a great and comfortable stay at this historic hotel. We were happily surprised about the bar in the basement, the friendly bartender and the delicious cocktails. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was tasty and fresh. ”

“The carriage house was very nice. The bedrooms are a bit strange as you have to go through the main bedroom to get to the bunkbed room. The downside of things was we brought our dog and there was only one dog friendly dining option around. Reads Landing Brewery says pet friendly on their website, but they aren't. You have to sit away from the building on the picnic tables, serve yourself and can only order appetizers off the menu.”

“Small home in a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood. The home is very close to many launches. The people in the community are very warm and friendly with most very willing to talk and most will wave as you drive by. The home is only a block from the beautiful backwaters and watching the sunsets or the wildlife from a bench overlooking the river is very rewarding. ”

"Staying at the Alexander Mansion felt like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and warmth. Every piece of furniture and every lamp tells a story—but what truly made this stay unforgettable was the hospitality of the 80-something host, a former chef, who graciously prepared a beautiful and heartfelt breakfast ceremony for us. His kindness and attention to detail gave our journey a sense of home and heartfelt care. Thank you for not only providing a charming place to stay, but for making every guest feel seen, welcomed, and cherished. This will remain one of the warmest memories of my travels.
