“This Resort/Spa Hotel was lovely, clean, comfortable, in a beautiful and quiet setting/location. The room was lovely! BUT sadly, the staff was so unwelcoming, so unaccommodating and just plain awkward, seeming pretentious and weird, which was very different from our experience in Rome & Sorrento. Not sure if it was the region, or just poor hirings. You could have cut the tension amongst the staff with a knife! Honestly, I would not recommend this stay. You can do better! “The best accommodations we've had in Italy. The rooms are so cute! The stone walls, brick ceiling, and chandelier... I felt like I woke up in a castle. The entire property is just beautiful!! Breakfast was yummy. I wish I took more of the chocolate pastry. Staff was so helpful and friendly. We even met the owner, who was so kind and most generous. “Wonderful quiet and clean hotel in a great location to explore many beautiful hill towns in Umbria and Tuscany. Breakfast buffet was amazing and, like all services at the hotel, was very friendly and efficient. Citta della Pieve is an attractive and surprisingly interesting hill town which projects a genuine feel for life in Umbria with relatively few tourists.
