“We loved our stay at Heron's Hideaway. The house was immaculately clean. The host provided lots of accommodations - plenty of clean towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap, pool towels, etc. Kim was great to work with and responded to all of our communication immediately. The house is a perfect spot to camp out and relax. We visited a couple small beaches within an hour of the house, and Williamsburg but could easily see staying at the house the whole time between the pool, dock, and kayaks. ”

“Location is magical. Water views and nature views abound. Porches, open areas, views galore. On a quiet point, with a creek meets river, almost ocean like feel. It is a very special place. All you need-beds are super comfy and attention to details with seating and kitchen are greatly appreciated. Besides older adults, we had age-early 20s cousins that discovered the fun of croquet. We did puzzles, played games and kayaked a lot; explored the creek and braved the ever changing currents and tides……

“I booked this rental for a week to fish from my kayak because it was a waterfront property with access to the bay. There is a huge ma and pap hunting/fishing store 10 min away that I would recommend to pick up bait and gear. I did catch some keeper size crabs right off the dock as well as a nice sized shad in the coan river area with a minnow.To those looking to spend time on the water this is a great location. “The fact that the cottage has not been modernized was not a concern for us. But there are several areas that are unsafe such as the outdoor portico. The floor is unlevel which is a hazard for individuals with balance deficits. There are too many niknaks for safety with kids. The pictures are not representative of the condition of the property. The air conditioning is inadequate and all of the fan filters need to be cleaned. We were very grateful that we could keep our pets there.”

The location was so quiet and relaxing - beautiful water views where we could watch sunrise AND sunset ! A prefect retreat !
