“This is the same vibe as Cumberland state park but way nicer and with better food. The pool was closed and we weren’t informed of that before we got there. That was lame. ”

“Very beautiful area! Cabin is secluded. Road is steep. Bed is too soft. Appreciated laundry appliances, hot tub, and deck. A larger microwave would be a simple upgrade. Good place for quiet relaxing. ”

“Property, house, and location (we wanted to be outside of town) were great. Very clean and spacious. Porch was wonderful during rainy times. ”

“It was a great location hidden back in the woods with lots of privacy. Ran into a few issues with the gas grill not working and a dead mouse in a trap that was left in the backyard. The screen door to the back was missing and found propped-up outside and broken. I will say that management offered to fix both the grill and door, but it was more inconvenient to do so. We worked around it and had a really wonderful time. ”

“Beautiful area! The house was a perfect size, but I'm not used to having steps in my house, it felt weird to go up to bed! The hot tub was very clean. We wished it had a little more usuable yard for the dog, but that's hard when you are on the side of a hill. All-in-all, a goid time!!”

“Beautiful property, however the gutters were overflowing with leaves and it rained while we were there. They definitely need attention soon. The floors were uneven and there is some broken tile in the kitchen and bathroom. There were cobwebs and dust on the fixtures and several light bulbs inside and out that were not working. I would also suggest a good cleaning of the windows. Hot tub had a funny smell to it, not like chlorine. A mixing bowl or two would be good to have as well. It was……

“Friends and I reserved Smallwood for a hiking trip in the area. We loved the location so close to the Red River Byway, Natural Bridge, Double Arch, and so much more. We ended up with an extra person who stayed at Natural Bridge Resort State Park which was nice and close. We enjoyed having the visitor center nearby and loved that the person behind the desk was a naturalist author who had coauthored a book on area wildflowers. The amenities and appointments in the cabin were beautiful - natural……
