“Needed to get away for a mental health break. This is a lovely property near Rend Lake. The house is well maintained and comfortable. We had a nice, peaceful and relaxed time. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for some time to visit the lake. My only suggestions, would be to add a digital antenna to get the local channels, we wanted to see local news to follow the weather and see some morning shows that we keep up with. ”

“We stay in a lot of VRBO's...and this is the best of them. Nate and Ruth are providing hospitality not just a place to stay. When we travel, we cook so I have a rubbermaid tub with everything that I would need, but I wouldn't have needed to bother because it's all available. Our young granddaughter visited us and we enjoyed the swing set in the back yard, walking around the pond and watching the horse across the street. There were even toys for her. We appreciated the washer and dryer and……

“Wr had a wonderful time. The house was so spacious we could spread out and not feel like we were piled on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds and baths were clean and comfortable. We were close enough to town to walk to restaurants and shops. This is a quiet neighborhood in a small town, but we spent a day in St. Louis, only an hour or so away. And the eclipse, what a bonus! We had a great family trip, and the house size and location was a big part of our great……

“Four of us stayed here for the eclipse. The place was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were a lot larger than I was expecting. The nearby trains can be a little loud, however the host was prepared with earplugs for sleeping and we all slept well. It is an easy walk to downtown and restaurants. I recommend La Fuente, or Joe's Pizza. My only suggestion would be for more comfortable chairs in the living room.”
