“Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for……

“Accommodations 5* Food 5* Property & Amenities 5* An inland riveria with what you would desire from a Michelin property. The rooms and common areas are picturesque and should be visited by Arch Digest. Well appointed and furnished to relax the mind. The staff is top notch. Not too assertive but very attentive and respectful. The restaurant options have a nice variety from bar to Michelin. This is what you want. A kitchen that can provide delicious bites on the go and the more exquisite dishes……

“O hotel fica na Quinta do Portal, uma casa de fazenda bem adaptada para hotel. O quarto e wc grande, varanda e bem decorada. O café da manhã maravilhoso. Um detalhe só, as estrada do restaurante para o hotel por 2 vezes ficou bloqueada por carros entregando mercadoria para o restaurante e tivemos que esperar a operação. O jantar menu degustação vale muito a pena”

“Beautiful, comfortable and clean accommodations with a stunning view of the Douro River! Excellent pool overlooking the river and valley. The staff were all so friendly, kind and helpful. It was an absolute delight to stay here, I would highly recommend Quinta da Marka and hope I can make it back there someday! ”

“Views from this property were breathtaking! Hotel is brand new and immaculate. Staff was friendly bed was comfortable. The bathrooms were on the small side. There is no gym at the facility although there is a lovely spa. Location was great to explore the Quinta’s and vineyards of the Duro Valley. You do need a car or driver as uber is not easy to get. ”

“A definite must stay if you are visiting the Duoro Valley. It is a small slice of paradise once you enter the red door. Manuel was so kind and helpful. The wine paired dinner (for a cost) was delicious and very informative. Highly recommend you book here. ”

Café da manhã ótimo, lugar silencioso e super acolhedor. Parecia que tínhamos o hotel só pra gente, piscina vazia e um clima adorável. Nao tem estacionamento, mas na rua do hotel tem um supermercado onde tem convênio com o hotel e podemos colocar lá sem taxa alguma. Voltarei com certeza! ”
