“This spot was awesome! The neighborhood didn’t have a great reputation with the locals but we honestly had no problems at all staying on this part of the island. The hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed and even offered lots of really great recommendations for things to do while we were there. There isn’t a lot in the way of shops nearby, but they do have the essentials– a quick mart, gas, and even a pizza place. Very quiet and the stars at night are unmatched. The yurt……

“Great location… just a short ride to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (5 minutes). Beautiful house in an ohia fern forest setting with an outdoor hot tub which was fun for the kids. Kitchen was nicely stocked and the Macnut chocolates and coffee provided was a nice touch! Would definitely rent again! It was a nice relaxing getaway with the family. ”

Easily the best option to stay anywhere near the Captain Cook area. We loved being immersed in nature away from the crowds. The host was wonderful and very communicative. One of our best stays yet!”

“No shops nearby, but the peacefulness of the area was wonderful. Had to drive a bit to get to places but then the island is big and you do have to drive more. Saw areas i had never seen before and the beautiful overlooks from Kona Joes and another coffee shop were breathtaking.This house was on the ocean and we had beautiful sunsets every night, so peaceful sitting there by the ocean with the waves, I loved it.Thank you for sharing your home!”

“This is a beautiful place. Plenty of room for our family. 3rd bedroom does have a separate entrance but, it was fine for our older kids! Beautiful drive to get there and beautiful views. It is a drive from bigger areas but, we travelled most of the island so it was kinda in the middle. Would definitely stay there again”
