“We had a great time at the lake cottage. Everything was as listed and in good condition. We were looking for a quiet place on a lake and that is exactly what we got. We really loved the added bonus of the little boat and trolling motor. We were able to get around the entire lake on a single battery charge. We made sure to bring a paddle just in case. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and you can see the lake from the kitchen, living room and one of the bedrooms. It is immaculately clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. “This small cottage is cozy, clean and a bit off the beaten path. The scenery is absolutely stunning and it is not too far away from any activity but far enough away that you feel completely at peace. I have stayed at many B&Bs and this is by far one of the best. So clean and beautiful. I will definitely be staying there again!”

“My wife and sons and I stayed here and used it as a base of operations for day trips (Mackinac Island, St. Ignace, Cheboygan). It was great! Homey and comfortable. The fire pit was great, the host provided firewood (plus there’s tons to be gathered in the nearby woods). Kitchen was very nicely equipped for a northern Michigan cabin, we cooked breakfast and dinner every day. Lastly, it was nice watching the deer eat from the fruit trees on the other side of the road. Would recommend!”

“We had three couples stay as we were boating the inland waterway. So the dock was very convenient. All of the accommodations were as presented. With plenty of cooking items available. We ate many meals on the nice deck overlooking the black river.”

“This was a perfect location for a golf trip to the Gaylord area. Right between Treetops and Garland and several other courses. The host was very good at responding to our questions, and the cabin was just right for us (two golfing guys) to be comfortable. Paul's Pub - about 1.5 miles down the road - was wonderful as well. ”

“We booked Gooseberry Lodge last minute for our family of 5. The cabin was perfectly sized for two adults and three children. We spent most of our time on the expansive dock and enjoyed dinner sunsets from the back deck. The mooring buoy made it easy to stop back at the house for lunch while out tubing on the lake.
