“This year we decided that instead of buying presents, we would spend time together in a cozy cabin in the woods. We arrived and had a little bit of a hard time finding our cabin and since, it was the 24th of December and there was no one to help us get to our cabin, we started looking around. “We visited for 4 days and stayed a 5th day so we could get another day of skiing in. We were comfortable, the place was heated, warm, cozy and away from everything which is what we wanted. There’s a store in town (Reeds) where you can grab groceries, Redding is a half hour away, Shasta 1.5 hours. Peace, quiet, Serenity, good for the kids to run around. Plenty of firewood for the old school stove. Beds cozy. Office nearby. Hottub wasn’t overchlorinated which was nice. They should make it lighter……

“1951 log home with huge fireplace, woodstove, hot tub and sauna. Beautiful views. Great location near Lassen Volcanic National Park. Remember to gas up and bring food. Only on country store nearby with limited options. Only a couple of restaurants too although I'm sure there are more options in season. Checkin is at Noon which gives you most of the day to get settled. Brandon lives nearby and makes sure everything is ready for your arrival. No wifi and limited cell service so you are truly off……

“I stayed at this sweet place for one night after a very rigorous weekend snowshoeing at Lassen. I arrived exhausted and it was the perfect place to rest up before my drive home.
