“It was very convenient for Haydock Park races, parking available and a 10 to 15 minute leisurely walk. Staff were friendly and welcoming and managed to have a room ready beforecwe set off for the races.”

“Not a bad hotel. I stayed whilst visiting a festival so prices were elevated, but that was true everywhere. The room was fairly dated and could use a refurb and the bathroom tile grouting wasn't in great condition. The bed was comfortable enough and it was quiet. The hotel is functional and does the job, but has potential to be nicer with a bit of investment.”

“We stayed in a room that is more spacious than average ones. Clean and tidy. Staff are very polite and hospitable. Buffet style English breakfast is served, and quite tasty. The kitchen even takes simple orders to suit your needs. Guests can also use the pool and gym for free, which is rare for many hotels. Lots of parking spaces. The only concern is that the room has no air conditioning. During a summer day it could be rather hot and stuffy.”

“Communication pre check in was good and it was confirmed a late check in was okay. Quite a maze from reception with no signage so finding my way out in the morning took a while. Room itself was comfy enough. Dust on the kettle so got the impression room hadn't been used for a day or two. Single use toiletries in the bathroom. Grounds around the hotel are nice and on a sunny day would be nice to walk round/sit outside with a drink. ”

“Easy parking - nice countryside - local chip shop - local town of Tarporley has nice bars - good sized pool - terrible decor around pool ceiling, walls & changing rooms - no air con ”
