“We were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating this home was for a larger group. There were so many thoughtful touches—from extra linens and air mattresses to easy-to-use appliances and lots of seating. The living area was great for hanging out, and the garage space gave us room to spread out. Everything was clean and organized when we arrived, and the host was quick to answer questions. Definitely one of the better group accommodations we've booked.”

“We brought our 3-yr-old for a weekend vacation in beautiful Ferndale. The house is decked out with the most exquisite Victorian antiques and little details. Every inch of the place full of artifacts and it is clear that the proprietors care very much about preserving the rich history of the home. It also had all the conveniences you might need for your stay. The location is nearly perfect, only half a block from the little downtown strip. “I injured my knee the evening before I was to drive up to King Salmon, so was unable to enjoy Shell Cottage, and too late for any refund! I had stayed previously however, and it was lovely; hence my desire to return.”

“This house was perfect for my friend and I. We like a lot of personal space and comfort. The location is great! Centrally located from Old Town, the zoo and easy to get to Hwy 101. We had a little trouble getting the TV on at first and then turning it off again. Maybe the remote needs new batteries? If not, some instructions would be good. I would definitely stay here again.”

“Loved that it was close to all the things we wanted to do in Eureka but felt secluded because of its location in the woods. The property was clean and comfortable. One sort of minor thing, the curtains in the bathroom are inadequate. Someone can definitely see inside from outside at night when the light is on/and or looking specifically during the day. I would suggest updating to a better curtain as it is definitely see through (we checked). ”

“This was an excellent location. The place was beautiful and we each had our own bathrooms. It was great. ”

“Exceeded expectations! Adorable place in a great location! Pond is super cool, didn't see any frogs but saw lots of fish. Check in was easy, house was very clean. Comfortable bed and nice linens. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bring earplugs if you are sound sensitive, you can hear everything going on above you. Owner uses a lot of heavy fragrance detergent/cleaners so beware if you have any sensitivities to artificial fragrance. Would definitely stay again! ”

“The place was immaculate and everything was updated inside. Plenty of fenced in outdoor space if you had kids or pets. Great location, close to grocery and a couple of eateries and within walking distance of Sequoia Park. Would definitely stay here again.”
