“The Ship & Castle have a very welcoming team who looked after us very well. It’s right opposite the quayside, with temporary parking opposite the entrance Laos for unloading your luggage and then just a few minutes walk from the main car park. Lovely restaurant & bar views over the waterside! Our room had a spacious fitted bathroom and it was very well decorated and clean. The room itself a twin was a little snug, but had all we required. “Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent food. However my main concern was the lack of air conditioning on the top floor. Unfortunately it seems to be the lot of the solo traveller that you get stuck on the top floor ( I have had this in other hotels) where it is usually hot and stuffy. Too much noise on the road outside ( boy racers and revellers) to keep the windows open. Shame because otherwise I liked the hotel.”
