“Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and spotless, nice bed slept well. Had evening meal at hotel and it was first class, nice atmosphere in the bar and whilst dining. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.”
“Very good value! Large room in historic pub. Building is full of character with wonky beams and creaky floor boards, and our room had an incredible four poster bed. Everything was clean and linens were all good quality. Bathroom could use some minor retouching but was perfectly acceptable.
We stayed in the peak of summer (30 degree days) and did find it was very hot and there was no fan in the room. Trade off between having the windows open to help cool off which also let in a fair amount of……
“Staff were experienced and very friendly. Rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend and stay again. ”
“Friendly & warm welcome the staff were fab. Lovely room spotlessly clean & comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Great location for exploring Shrewsbury will definitely return.”
“Simply superb! This traditional B&B, for me, was perfect. Louise met me at the door with a warm smile and showed me to my, quaint, comfortable room. The brass-rail bed was super comfortable and my breakfast was cooked excellently by Peter, the other half of this welcoming (and hardworking) couple. Highly recommend this place when you’re passing through Shrewsbury UK.

“Great location. The hotel is almost next door to the railway station. The room is clean, warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that there is no lift and the staircase is very narrow, which made carrying four suitcases upstairs a real challenge.”
“Brilliant stay in the heart of the town. Very modern, provides basic necessities such as shower gels and tea and coffees. The pub is just downstairs so any issues you can report to them. Keyless entry to the hotel and your room, very good value for money. ”
“A beautiful old inn with modern features in a setting that overlooks the Sevrn River. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The rooms are well appointed and excellently maintained. There is an elegant bar and restaurant where the food and drink was delicious. They have a great entertaining space outdoors where you can have a party or entertain a group. We had a fun and relaxing stay and would happily return.”
“The staff were lovely with nothing too much trouble. The food was superb in an amazing dining room with proper tablecloths and napkins !
This is a wonderful 800 year old castle with no lift so, if you have walking difficulties, ask for a room on the first floor.
The public rooms are magnificent but the bedrooms, while perfectly comfortable, would benefit from being brought up to date.
Anyway, all in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we shall be sure to return. ”
