“Simply superb! This traditional B&B, for me, was perfect. Louise met me at the door with a warm smile and showed me to my, quaint, comfortable room. The brass-rail bed was super comfortable and my breakfast was cooked excellently by Peter, the other half of this welcoming (and hardworking) couple. “Great location. The hotel is almost next door to the railway station. The room is clean, warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that there is no lift and the staircase is very narrow, which made carrying four suitcases upstairs a real challenge.”

“Check in was 15:00. I arrived at 16:20 and the room was still not ready. I complained to the woman at the bar which serves as the reception, she apologised, asked me if I wanted a drink while I waited and then tried to charge me for it! Not a good start to my stay. However, the room itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, modern and stylish. Extremely good value for the price and literally opposite the train station. Entry to the hotel is via an app you have to download, but it worked well……

“This is basically a 'pub with rooms'. But the rooms are exceptionally nice. Lovely big bed without the join down the middle (you know what I mean - two singles bolted together...), comfy chairs and a lovely soft carpet (I said it was the little things). But while I'm on the subject, proper mugs, proper glasses (not plastic cups), and decent biscuits (not the standard ones that all hotels seem to have). Food in the restaurant? Pub grub - but very well cooked. Good wine list too. All in all,……

“Loved our stay at here, staff were very welcoming and helpful and patient with our young Vizsla dog. Ideal set up for staying with a dog, with rooms located opposite site of the car park to the cosy pub. Food was excellent. Definitely would come and stay here again. ”

“We were welcomed by the family. We were helped to choose from an extensive menu for our evening meals. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh fruit and a variety of cereals. The main course had several tasty options including eggs Benedict and eggs royale. Coffee came with hot milk as requested. Our room was spacious with plenty of hangers and hanging space. Coffee, tea and chocolate were provided with a small kettle. ”
