“One (probably the smallest) of several lodgings on the property. Overall, a pretty cool place to stay. The whole unit has a subtle sway to rock you to sleep. Personally, I loved it. We stayed in 90 degree weather and the A/C was a LIFESAVER. My only real complaint was one of the other guests in the castle kept leaving the common kitchen a bit messy. Thinking about coming back and trying the hobbit house. We pretty much kept to ourselves, but there are plenty of common areas to hang out.”

“So much of this trip was ideal. From attentive communication to easy check-in to a gorgeous setting, we appreciated it all. Take care with the driveway as rain has washed some small places away. Slow and steady. Location is ideal for a quick trip to Charlottesville or Shenendoah National Park. The restaurant on nearby Lydia mountain has solid offerings and rockstar patio views. Or go nowhere and settle in. The creek on site offers its own delights. We spotted a blue heron and a ground hog. The……

“We were rained-out of a long planned camping trip and, luckily, found this at the last minute. The Rococo room is beautiful and very clean, and the deck with BBQ is quite useful. It is spacious and bright. The grounds are fun to walk around. Seeing the different areas is really interesting. I especially liked the yacht floating in the pond. Overall this was a great stay! ”

“Fantastic stay for Shenandoah hikes. Make sure to shop before hand because grocery and gas are quite far, but the property is beautiful and has many little critters running about near the main clubhouse (i.e., kitties of many kinds and a massive duck as well). The grill is a George Forman but it still worked as well as we needed for basic hot dog and burgers for dinner. Overall great experience and will absolutely book again if we return for more hiking!”

“Very clean, comfortable, and so peaceful. We spent a lot of time sitting by the creek. It was absolutely perfect! In a wonderful location with the national park entrance very close by. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend, especially to small families. There’s also a nearby restaurant with fabulous views and great food and service (Bearrr Appetit). It’s ”

“It was a little bit difficult to find at first but we're happy once we found it and got in. This is a fun little place to explore and a quick drive into Ruckersville and not a super long commute to Chatlottesville. This was a great little get away! ”

“Our stay was peaceful the setting was rustic and whimsical and our room was very clean. Staff was ready to help when we need to evict a wasp nest close to our doorway as my husband is extremely allergic. We would definitely stay again!”

“My husband and I stayed here after hiking in Shenandoah for the day. Beautiful property back in the woods/country. Our room had a beautiful view especially in the morning with the sunrise. Loved sitting outside in the morning. Would definitely stay here again- maybe at one of the cabins with our kids. ”

“When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted by the concierge whom escorted us to our room and made sure we could enter our room using our code. After we settled in we went downstairs to the restaurant and had an awesome meal with breathtaking views of the valley. I will definitely return as I have family and friends in the area and the location is perfect. ”

“First time here, staying in the lodge in a themed room with a fantastic view and wonderful sunrise. Food was excellent in the restaurant. The surprise came when we found out that a large fireworks display was being held at the lodge! We did not have to go anywhere for anything! One little complaint: we heard the people above us. Other than that, great experience!”
