“We stay in the area regularly to visit family and we would definitely stay in this house again. The location was convenient for our needs. There were plenty of things to do at the house to keep everyone happy, even in January! One thing to note since I didn’t notice when booking, there aren’t tv’s in the bedrooms. The projector and couch in the basement was the preferred hangout space for our teens.”

“this place was out in the middle of nowhere but was amazing. It was so quiet you could hear your ears ringing. the sky was clear and beautiful we saw shooting stars, the milky way and just beautiful night sky. if your in to books this is a place to explore. the owner had to have thousands of books and they were all well organized. some of the books were published in the early 1900’s. the host was very friendly and I am assuming that he put a lot of love into building this home. “The house and property are excellent. Getting up the main road and the driveway with a boat is tricky - narrow and lots of turns but once at the property it is great. The decor is up to date and relevant with the seasonal themes for the bedrooms. Great open concept for the living area. Just a couple very small areas to clean a little better but I am sure the owner will take care of them as he is on site and very connected to make this a top notch experience for guests. “We wanted a relaxing getaway for a long weekend and that's exactly what we got. The house is located right on the river and we spent our mornings and evenings on the deck enjoying the view. It is within an hour to New River Gorge National Park and several state parks. There is plenty of space to explore near the house with the Elk River Trail right across the road. The house is clean and well-equipped and the owners are very communicative. We would definitely stay here again if we are going to……
