“We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort in the rooms. Both the bedroom and the public rooms were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast and evening meals were superb and we did enjoy having a freshly cooked breakfast brought to our table rather than a buffet style self service where the food had been hanging around. The overall impression was of happy staff creating a pleasant atmosphere”

“We had a lovely stay here in a twin room. The room was rather small with a small bathroom but it was very clean and comfortable. The hosts were fantastic and provided great choices for breakfast and were extra helpful with a parking permit. Extra thought had gone in to guests needs, such as fresh milk in a fridge in the room. We would definitely recommend a stay here to anyone. Thanks.”

“The room was ensuite and well equipped and we found the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of options. We had the full English breakfast and were delighted with the high quality of the bacon etc. The swimming pool was heated and was available from early morning to late evening. The host -Craig - was always very friendly and helpful. We plan to stay there again whenever visiting that area of Devon. ”

“This charming traditional hotel was clean, comfortable and in an excellent location, only 3 mins walk to the seafront. Our room was spacious and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Sidmouth itself is a delightful English seaside town with plenty to see and do, eg walking options a plenty, repertory theatre, open air concerts in the seafront gardens and a variety of exhibitions. ”

“I liked the old world charm of Southern Cross, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and there were some nice touches such as strawberries to put on our cereal at breakfast, home-made marmalade, and nice biscuits on the tea tray in our room. We appreciated these.”
