“We stayed here for three nights to go hiking in the area with friends. First, the positives: The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood, a short drive to town and not far from Starved Rock and other parks. Check-in was smooth and the house is nicely decorated and seemed clean. Unfortunately, there were a lot of issues that should have been addressed before renting it out: There were a lot of ants in the kitchen. There were problems with doors not opening/closing properly, a shower head that was……

“Easy check in at this unique 1950s prefab bungalow. Enjoyed learning about history of this home from the book, pictures and other documents about Lustron on site. Plenty of nostalgia with all the modern comforts. Very clean and well stocked home. This was our first visit and will definitely come back.”

“Close to downtown Ottawa which made it very convenient for our weekend activities. The home is located next to a railroad track; there were a handful of trains that passed through while we were there but nothing too disruptive. Plenty of room in the apartment.”

“Quick trip to Illinois for fall break. My family loved the house. We all had rooms on separate floors and with teenagers they loved it! The area was really nice. Enjoyed some hiking at nearby Starved Rock State Park and Matthiessen State Park. Also drove in to Chicago quick for a Bulls game. ”

We were visiting the area due to a death in our family, so the house was such a nice escape to take our mind off of everything. Theresa was even nice enough to allow us to book an additional day last minute. She really got us out of a pinch! If you’re on the fence about booking this place, you definitely should!
