“Note: "Pet Friendly" only extends to dogs under 20 pounds. The park trails along the Potomac were its best feature. They start just a very short walk from the front door. The house worked out very well for us. It was sparsely furnished and some elements were slightly shabby, but it was fine as we were most interested in getting together. It was excellent value for the many bedrooms. Just don't expect a mansion. ”

“We enjoyed a long weekend with 3 generations under one roof. 7 of us stayed comfortably at this beautiful old home built in the 1870', the Aldie Farm House. Our adult daughter braved the pool's cold water the first day, but being end of April, none of us were that brave. Our host was very attentive to any questions we had and there was a very nice caretaker who was available if we needed her. We were pretty busy during our stay but we managed to cook most of our meals at the house and……

We did not have a car for the long weekend, but due to the proximity to Clarendon and the Metro Orange Line, we definitelyy didn't feel like we needed one. There is a Trader Joe's, ABC Store, adn CVS within walking distance as well, so it is easy to pick up any necessities during the stay. “Our college grandson lived nearby and this was very convenient for him and us to see each other for meals and sightseeing tours. We walked to some tours and took Ubers for other sightseeing tours that were too far for us to walk. We felt very comfortably walking around.”

"The Tidal Basin is just across the street from the hotel, and the hotel has its own private bridge across the street to the Tidal Basin, which is in a great location to view the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin and go to the National Mall. The service staff is very friendly, and the hotel is tastefully decorated, clean and warm. The room is large and overlooks the Tidal Basin from the window.We came to see the cherry blossoms this time with my elderly mother. The hotel is very conveniently located for my mother in a wheelchair to visit the Tidal Basin."
