“My mother celebrated her 93rd birthday on this trip. We started renting this property in 1988 and it was a wonderful full circle memory for her. The place was lovely. The only complaint was the water pressure was quite low, but totally understandable with the water situation on the Coast. Will definitely recommend this property to others. ”

The cabin was extra special in regards to decor, bed comfort, and having everything you need. We especially enjoyed the sound system that we set on spa music throughout the cabin. Starlink (recently installed) worked great for us just enough to stay in touch by text and emails, phone was a bit spotty. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay for relaxation, while still being close……

“This was the sweetest, most magical little treehouse cottage. The attention to detail, cozy linens, and high end finishes make it the perfect place to retreat and rest. Megan was very helpful and easy to communicate with! Great proximity to hikes, restaurants, and the coast. We really loved breakfast at Cape Fear, and drove up the coast one night for dinner at Coast Kitchen which was totally worth the drive. I would love to stay here again. Thank you!”

“The place was amazing and we were so happy we stayed there. We would go back again in a heartbeat. It is a short walk away from the public Monte Rio beach and restaurants and it is a short drive away from the ocean or Santa Rosa in the other direction.”

“Quaint, quiet and peaceful stay”

“The five of us really enjoyed our stay. The property is wonderful and well stocked. We were surprised to have the hot tub maintenance person show up one day around 8am, but otherwise it was an extremely peaceful and private spot. Would stay there again! ”

“The place was very relaxing. Hot tub was beautifully located under the redwoods near the creek. Linens were exceptionally scented with hormonal disruptive scented laundry detergent. Bring your own wood for the fireplace, as none is provided. BBQ grill is broken and won’t ignite. Otherwise, the place is very comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and very spacious outdoor area.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Old Timer. What a cozy and relaxing treasure of a house. The deck looking over the river was so relaxing and peaceful. The fireplace was a beautiful element that made the evenings so cozy. The entire space was spotlessly clean, and the space was just as it looked in the photos, with the comfiest couch to lounge on. I would definitely return in the future and recommend to others. ”

“My dog and I had a wonderful 2 months at this beautiful cottage. Hot tub was wonderful, location amazing and private. All communications were accurate and prompt. Relaxation and time to experience this area was the goal and it was more than I could have imagined. You will enjoy. ”

“The house was beautiful, in a good location, the mattress was comfortable and a gas fireplace kept things warm. It was everything we were hoping to find. The full moon could be seen from the deck and shone on the river. It was within walking distance to Café, Aquarius. ”

Wonderful site, a few tweaks would make it amazing

"We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. The hotel facilities, which included a small pool, hot tub, gym, spa and a bocce ball court, overlooking the coast. The quality and tastes of the food was average at best. We enjoyed some “happy hour” snacks and breakfast on-site. Overall, the food was a bit bland and a touch too salty. The view from the restaurants was spectacular nonetheless. Overall, we had a wonderful visit to the area and this facility."
