The neighborhood is incredibly quiet and nestled in the Skyline Forest area of Monterey. The roads and driveways can be steep, but the views are amazing. “Nice two bedroom two bath. Bedrooms separated by living area. Quiet neighborhood, but no A/C so with windows open you will hear kids playing and birds chirping. Nights were cool and there is an outdoor table. Lots of privacy and up-to-date kitchen. We didn’t cook or watch TV, but kitchen seemed well supplied.”

“We liked everything about this classic, updated motel. Service was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. We had a standard, amply-sized room with a fireplace as a bonus, at an affordable rate. Feels like a mid-century California coastal motel, in a row of similar places down the road. It was a little bit of a walk, not terrible, to the downtown and Cannery Row locations. We walked throughout of our 3-day stay without trouble. We'd stay at the Arbor Inn again to visit lovely Monterey.”

There was no desk in the room I stayed but it didn't bother too much since I could use the dinning table. Most of all, I got very prompt reply from the owner whenver I had questions. “Our experience at this hotel was terrible. It was impossible to contact them before arriving. When we did arrive after 6 hours in the car they would let us use a restroom and it would be 3 hours until check in. The woman kept adding a day to my stay. And as I requested a downstairs room for the 5th time she put me upstairs. Another woman working said they need a downstairs room. So finally we did get the downstairs room.
