“This is basically a 'pub with rooms'. But the rooms are exceptionally nice. Lovely big bed without the join down the middle (you know what I mean - two singles bolted together...), comfy chairs and a lovely soft carpet (I said it was the little things). But while I'm on the subject, proper mugs, proper glasses (not plastic cups), and decent biscuits (not the standard ones that all hotels seem to have). Food in the restaurant? “Check in was 15:00. I arrived at 16:20 and the room was still not ready. I complained to the woman at the bar which serves as the reception, she apologised, asked me if I wanted a drink while I waited and then tried to charge me for it! Not a good start to my stay. However, the room itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, modern and stylish. Extremely good value for the price and literally opposite the train station. Entry to the hotel is via an app you have to download, but it worked well……
