“If you are looking for a vfm option in West Bay this hotel is the place. We had room 7 on the first floor, spacious, whirlpool bath and even a teapot. In our opinion 2 negatives for this room, the mattress was way too soft and the seagulls from 0400hrs, can't really do anything about the 2nd being near the sea!!! The breakfast is quality, great choice and only £10 per day. The hotel is not statebor modern if that is what you are looking for, however the atmosphere and staff make up for it.”
“Lovely friendly staff from the minute we arrived until we left. Living under the Heathrow flight path, the silence was wonderful. The only sound we could hear was seagulls and the occasional wood pidgin. Wonderful four day break.”
“Lovely hotel for our 1 night stay. Friendly welcoming staff made it special. Great breakfast, lots of options including my favourite avocado on sourdough. Yes a little noisy at night due to being located on a busy street, but lovely room with an unexpected 4 poster bed and free standing bath. Perfect base for exploring the area. We walked 2 miles to West Bay and drove to Lyme Regis. Would have liked to enjoy a drink in the courtyard garden under the wisteria as it looked beautiful but time was……
“The hosts were great… however, the cleanliness was not good!. Upon inspecting our bed, it was clear that the bedding had not been changed, we found two pieces of grass and several pieces of body hair, including eyelashes… ”
“If you fancy a comfortable, clean and friendly Dorset inn with the best of breakfasts and delicious high quality meals, book in at The Marquis of Lorne. Surrounded by wonderful views, walking paths and close to the sea. Great for relaxing without children, also great for young families - an excellent garden play area.”
“Lovely stay. Some rogue decor, but overall nice hotel and stay. Nice host.
You need a car if you’re going to stay here because there’s nothing around.”
“The staff at the hotel went above and beyond, the service was impeccable. The hotel itself was beautiful, inside and out, and the food was wonderful. We really couldn’t have asked for more. Definitely going back soon!”
“Lovely country pub with loads of character. Located in a small village, in an isolated, quiet location. Warm welcome from the Land Lady and Scrappy Do. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed two nights, room clean and comfortable with tea/coffe and TV. Free wifi, useful as there was no phone signal. Ate at the pub both nights, tasty, reasonably priced food. Recomend the Venison pie with a glass of red.
Overall, an excellent stay, definately recommend. Will be staying again when back in the area.”
“Wonderful place to stay in central Crewkerne. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was exactly as pictured. The room was so unique! Our room faced the street and was a bit noisy at night but we had our window open. Highly recommend!”
“Great staff. Comfortable room with terrace and sea view. Characterful bar area.
The swimming pool wasn’t available.
The rear of the building facing the car park needs attention. This is particularly important as we had to walk pass the area to get to our room.
Our second visit…Will visit again.

“Wow, what a pleasant surprise The Greyhound was. The staff 5 make this place. All of them, which is quite unusual, were fantastic...absolute credit to Greyhound. ”
“Check out at 10am is too early. Continental breakfast a bit limit. But Bacon Omelette lovely. Overall, otherwise hotel great and thanks for the upgrade, even better value
”
“Lovely breakfast, very cosy historical farm house, excellent countryside area. Sorry to be late for check-in(didn't notice only 16:00-18:00 check-in hours), and Ms Woods had to wait for me for a few hours. Overall we had a nice stay in East farm house. ”
