"Hidden Fees Scam
The room was big and the price was okay, but they had a hidden $10 parking fee. Some websites said $5, but nowhere did it mention $10 on weekends. We checked in on Sunday, and there were only about 10 cars in the parking lot, yet they still charged us $10.
Parking at Holiday Inn Express is almost always free for non-downtown location. This is the first one we’ve ever seen that charges for parking. If it were a football day, sure, but it wasn’t—it was a Sunday when even street parking is free.
For IHG members, the fee is supposed to be waived. Later we asked for a refund, but the front desk said they needed to check with the manager since we hadn’t entered our IHG member number into the reservation. At the time of checking in, we were completely shocked and surprised by the parking fee and didn’t think to argue.
Now, two days later, they still haven’t refunded our parking fee. Never booking here again.
So, Holiday Inn is franchised— and this one is trying to scam money."
