“I arrived at the Chantry Hotel just after midday. The proprietor was happy for me to check-in straight away. He was also happy for me to leave my car there for a couple of hours after I’d checked out the following morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My room was on the second floor - the second set of stairs was a little narrow but fortunately I didn’t have much luggage for my overnight stay so it wasn’t a problem for me. I would definitely stay……
“Welcoming friendly team, plans had changed and received a free upgrade which was great. Spacious clean room with good facilities. Well equipped gym and nice size pool are available to use. Hotel was very good service abs facilities.
Regretted eating in the restaurant for dinner. Restaurant managers customer service questionable and main meal was not at the quality we would have expected for 2 AA rosette restaurant, hot breakfast also basic. ”
“A lovely location, a very short drive/taxi from the town centre. Only there a night but saw deers in the garden and such a beautiful setting.
Host was there to welcome us, and easily accessible if needed. ”
“The images on the Hotels.com did not reflect the cottage we were allocated and it was not clear that we would be sharing a kitchen. We had a private bathroom but had to go through the shared kitchen to reach it. So whilst it was clean and comfortable, we were put off by sharing facilities. Check is advertised as 3pm but had messaged and agreed a 5pm arrival. When we arrived at 4h50 the room was not ready and found areas that had been replastered but not painted. The stay was fine and value for……

“The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas.
The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly.
It was an easy 12 minute walk into the cathedral area and town.

“My wife and I stayed overnight to meet up with family and have a meal together. The room was lovely, clean, and welcoming.
Bathroom was modern and clean with good shower. The staff were very friendly and the service was great! We had a meal in the restaurant which was wonderful, the breakfast was equally as good!
All in all a great stay and I can see us revisiting. ”

“The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.”

“Although the chalet was a little dated it was clean, had a good shower and comfortable bed. The TV signal did come and go which wasn’t great. The breakfast was good and overall our stay was good. The staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. The sweetie jar was a nice touch ”
