“Great host and a very pleasant room. We had the room with the private garden, which would be super, if it had been a tad warmer. The restaurant recommendation (which came through after booking)was very helpful, along with other useful info on the local area. ”

“We had a great time at Rectory Manor, a lovely old georgian country house set in mature garden of trees and lawn with a swimming pool and tennis court if you want some exercise. Our room (the Hudson) was furnished in the country house style and was supremely comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom was a bit small and slightly dated. The bath was too small to properly soak. On the plus side we had an unexpected balcony that caught the morning sun whilst giving beautiful country views……

Plus it is close to the seafront walk of West Mersea Beach. Rooms are very clean, plus you have the advantage that they are part of a pub, therefore the ability to step down for a drink or food at any point.”
