“Location is everything in this case. Sitting right on the edge of the Great Sand Dunes National Park, this place offers the closest view of the dunes and mountains from the room’s patio. Other than camping in the park, this is the only good option. We loved sitting on the patio with a glass of wine watching the sunset as it cast shadows in the dunes. The room was comfortable and clean. Sad to say the only dinner option was a cheese Papa Murphy’s pizza to take back to our room. Oh well, we……

“This is an older highway style motel. I was a bit skeptical when I booked, but the rooms were clean and well maintained. Good economical option for a night stay.”

“Our truck broke down and we ended up staying here for three days. The staff were absolutely lovely. The hotel is on the process of switching from an EconoLodge. New carpet, walls painted. The jacuzzi is still being repaired but the pool was a consistent 87 degrees. I enjoyed my breakfast each morning. I would totally stay here again. Also, the property is very close to the train, prison museum and great restaurants… loved Nirvana. DiRitos and the Owl.”

“The pool and spa were out of order and the carpets in the room were old, dirty and in need of replacement. Check in staff was excellent and inquired if we needed anything often.”

“The key making machine did not work. There oven was broken. The breakfast was very limited, and what was there was not complete (waffles, but no syrup). No eggs or other usual breakfast items. It seemed that the place was understaffed, as there was no one to see to restocking breakfast items. ”
