“Staying at this property feels like stepping back into the 1800s. I've never seen so much wood and the decor is really nice. very very friendly staff and though it is a bit rough to get to it is worth the drive. I would stay here again in an instant. I will make one note that you should expect spotty internet, but everything else was completely excellent and absolutely worth a second trip!”

“We stayed while walking the Great Glen Way. It is a mile from the route. We had a great dinner at the Eagle Barge Inn before going to hostel. Very small room with bunk bed and shared bathroom. Have to rent towels. End of season so no breakfast, but a kitchen was available to use. We walked to the Well of Seven Heads coffee shop for breakfast. ”

“Our room was clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful hosts who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Introduced us to their friendly dog and they were able to offer advice on where to eat dinner. Plenty information in the folder in the room of local attractions if anyone wanted. We would stay again. ”

“Old school stately charm, the staff make an effort to provide a luxurious experience in this historically grand hotel. Great to have a bathtub, bathrooms have been renovated. Treats and coffee/tea provided in the room. Friendly and cozy pub for visitors and locals with full menu available. Grand, formal dining room and halls for guests. “No frills lodging. It's an older building, and it is showing it's age, but it's sufficient for a night or two. Big tub in the bathroom. Rooms are warm (It's Oct and cold!). Good accommodations for the price. Make sure you check your email ahead of time for the key box code, or you will have to call from the unstaffed reception. Free coffee and snacks at breakfast. ”

“Somewhat disappointing. No one was there to check us in of inquire about our needs. Kind of eerie to stay at a hotel and not see anybody else (employees or guests) during our stay. Plus there was no Highland Cattle plush in our room as their web-site pictures suggest. Otherwise, a comfortable room that was clean and well-maintained.”
