“Great cozy cottage! Perfect for small families. Short walk to the beach over the dunes. Very peaceful and quiet area, not at all touristy or commercial. The only thing that should change about the listing is that it says there is a washer but there is none. I came prepared with detergent but there was no washer. Overall amazing stay and way more affordable than the surrounding homes.”

“We loved the place. Beach access was easy. We appreciated the outdoor shower. We were very thankful for the shed, loaded with beach goodies (boogie boards, chairs, sand toys, and a wheelbarrow to carry it all). We loved the hot tub at night.Inside was great as well. Very clean, and dinner seating for a large family. The kitchen was very nice (suitable for our annual "meal competitions"), was well equipped, and had plenty of storage space. The beds were comfy. “Over all the house was great. Not as nice as i had hoped but it was nice. One of the closets had stuff thrown into it to the point that things were almost falling out of it. EVERY VRBO that i have stayed at before always had toiletries and a few kitchen items to at least get you started the first day or 2. This place had absolutely nothing. We arrived at 1am so nothing to shower with after a 20 hour drive was disappointing. The water view the add spoke of was a small pond out the back……

“Beware of renting places that don’t have reviews! We rolled the dice on this one because the online listing looked good and it is dog friendly. The set up for the dog is good with a spacious fenced in area, but the grass was 2 feet tall, giving the place a shabby look. “We had a great stay. Convenient mid-island location. Near Waves market and restaurants. A little concerned when we pulled up and saw the outside of house but the inside was updated and clean. Had everything we needed. Would have preferred another small couch or loveseat in living room instead of the chair to relax and watch TV, but otherwise comfortable.”

“We had a wonderful stay! The house was a perfect size for my twin boys and I! The pool area and hot tub were clean and well maintained. The interior of the house was also clean and had everything we needed! The upstairs can get a little warm, but I had brought an extra fan so that helped move air from the center of the upstairs to the bedrooms. The spiral staircase will be tricky for younger children, and luckily the outside deck stairs can be used to bring heavy bags to the upstairs bedrooms.……

“The beach access is at the end of your dead end road. You have a beautiful view of some water. Still not sure what that what was but it was pretty. Location wise be prepared to drive 20 minutes either way to a grocery store but there was nice ice cream place, restraint, dg, and arcade all within 5 minutes. Did see a few roaches during our stay but anyone who has stayed in south or North Carolina knows they are like ants down there. ”
