“Flawless. We loved our stay at The Ship Inn and I strongly recommend it for any stay in Rye. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of town. The pub is beautiful and historic and the room itself modern and faultlessly clean. Some little details I really appreciated: tea and coffee and kettle in the room (with oat milk sachets!), a deep bath, tv, desk fan and a very comfy, spacious bed. 10/10”

The host and hostess are lovely and their entire focus is on making their guests' stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. “Everything about our stay could not be faulted. Friendly reception on arrival. Told all we needed to know straight away and made to feel very welcome. Separate restaurants as we had our dogs with us and we were the only ones in ours but still were treated very attentively. Good varied menu with several specials on offer. Prices are reasonable and on par with others offering a similar service. Breakfast was a limited offering but still very good. The character of the hotel is everything. It is……

“Stayed in the garden suite. Very spacious, clean room. Comfortable and friendly staff. Arrived early and left my car in the car park, was offered to check in early however we was in a rush so didn’t take up the offer but it was appreciated. Very easy to check in and check out. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. ”

“After changing our room we had an excellent stay. Please note that if you book two single beds and a walk-in shower, you will not stay in the old part of the hotel. That part dates from 1600 and is really beautiful with its history. Very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.”

“It was a great location and really pretty place with lovely gardens. The Japanese decor inside was unexpected but stunning. The quirky stairs to the ensuite was interesting but made it more fun. Lovely breakfast and friendly, helpful host.”

“Beautifully decorated room and bathroom, very comfortable bed. We had food and drinks at the Seadog pub which we would highly recommend. The only downside was the noise which was to be expected above a pub on a Saturday night but could also hear people going up and down the stairs during the night. Otherwise could not fault and host very helpful.”
