“On arrival Rory the General manager was at hand to take our luggage and gave us great Welcome. He was very helpful with information about the area we were in and gave us information about parking and places to eat. The Hotel at the moment is still in the process of being refurbished. So, yes there were a lot of painting, decorating and new carpets to be laid. “Fabulous stay for girls weekend! Lovely setting with wonderful walking trails that only require a moderately hard climb up. The room had a terrace that was perfect for a cup of tea and a rest. The restaurant was very good with a wonderful breakfast and dinner menu. You should pay ahead for parking, but the lot is just over the square from the hotel, so very convenient. Would most definitely stay again!”

“Lovely old quiet country hotel with beautiful gardens and views. Very short staffed on arrival but all friendly & helpful. Comfy room & beds, crisp sheets. Beds made up each day. Bottled water, towels, shower gel/shampoo, hairdryer all supplied. Fabulous shower. Tea/coffee in room too. Only thing missing were some coasters. (Dont like putting hot mugs directly on furniture.) The carpet had seen better days, but all in all a lovely room. Delicious choice of breakfasts & evening meals……

“Very nice property with many period features (it was a railway station originally). Staff were friendly and helpful. We know the fire alarm system works as it went off at 11.30PM (fortunately set off by steam from a shower not a fire). Only observation was that the breakfast seemed expensive didn't find out the quality as we went elsewhere.”

“Could not fault this pub/hotel. Friendly welcome on arrival, a great pint at the bar and a super comfy bed! Continental breakfast was good and healthier than the usual fry-up. Will definitely be back! 😎”

“Lovely hotel !! The service was excellent throughout and the room lovely. The food in the upper deck was fantastic and the drinks on the lawn were very enjoyable. Only small gripe was that the room was extremely hot and the wedding guests from the wedding that was also going on were very loud below the room so we could not open the window. Would definitely return”
