“Absolutely brilliant!! The room was lovely, everything in it you could want and more. Very generous with toiletries and refreshments. I had a perfect nights sleep! There is also a lovely garden you can use and enjoy. Staff were very relaxed, friendly and helpful. “Quiet location but only 20 mins to Berwick upon Tweed with Holy Island, Bamburgh and Alnwick within easy reach. Bedroom was huge with a comfy bed. Staff were pleasant. Good choice for breakfast and their evening meals were excellent. Restaurant gets very busy so its advisable to book a table. ”

“This was a charming country house hotel, with friendly and professional staff. However the room was a huge disappointment. While sold as small bedroom nothing prepared us for how small. No room to sit or put anything. The small furniture had the appearance of having born bought in a jumble sale. A hotel which purports to be a quality country house hotel, with rates to match, should have no rooms like this so inconsistent with a 'Hotel of Distinction'. “Cannot say enough how wonderful this hotel is, the bed was so comfortable and had lovely cosy linens on it, the room itself was well done up and had a view of a beautiful clock tower, and the breakfast served was amazing! Our only regret is not eating supper at the restaurant, I’m sure it would have been amazing too!”
