“Second time I have stayed here. Different room both times. Its simple, very basic, but has everything you need. Remember this place is super cheap for a capital city and that's what you get, cheap reasonable accommodation. Yes the bathroom is separate but private nevertheless. Please don't expect ANY glamour. Yes it could do with a huge makeover.”

“We stayed 4 nights and highly recommend Hotel Varusha. Everyone we met from checking in to our departure was friendly and helpful, even using a translation device to chat about the fascinating history of Veliko Tarnovo. The location is in the Old Town and in a good location for sightseeing, cafés and restaurants. Our room had a lovely view over the atmospheric orange -tiled rooftops to green hills beyond. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. We didn't use the kitchenette……

“The rooms are probably the best value at this price in central Sofia (been here before and stayed places that was worse). Location is good, close to bus and train station, MRT, restaurants, bars, casino etc. Rooms are clean with queensize beds, a closet and a small desk. The best things tho in my opinion was the fantastic view and the friendly host Lucio who was very helpful.”

“Very helpful staff for late checkin. Small twin bedded room which was very clean and functional. Aircon worked well. TV channels limited. Shower/WC cubicle/pod tight for anyone big/tall. No lift and hotel is on 3rd floor of building with shared entrance. As an overnight stay this was excellent value for money - basic but clean and functional.”
