“I was sceptical at first because there were reviews about it being in a rough neighbourhood , however, that is not the case it is right beside the medical school and veterans hospital. It is a 5 minute walk to the canal street car, taking less than 15 minutes to get to the French Quarter. We had no issue walking to and from the place at night. Very clean, very quiet and amazing for the price. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice place to stay and I quiet place to sleep. ”

“Our host was great, we could have done self checking but she waited for us to arrive. It was nice to have that friendly welcome. At first I thought it was a little quirky because the room was in the back which turned out to be nice and quiet.”

“The heat in the home was off when we arrived late on a very cold (34 Fahrenheit) night, the space heaters provided were insufficient and slow to bring the temperature up. The instructions list loading the dishwasher, but we never found one. They also list the place as sleeping 6 (and do have 3 large beds), but only provided 4 bath towels, 4 washcloths, and one bath mat. No kitchen towels or sponges were available, so we had to run out for laundry supplies just to shower and bathe the……

“We traveled from across the country to host our maiden women's Mardi Gras Retreat. Shirley's home is clean, spacious and welcoming. The home is well thought out and spacious. We had everything we needed and more to feel comfortable, enjoy creating crafts, sip coffee on the porch, and enjoy the parades. I would definitely recommend staying in this home!”
