“It was old house and I understand that they need constant maintenance. The owner of the house was out of town and left only one employee to run the place, which she did graciously. Given that is was a holiday weekend, and it appeared to be a full house, the owner should have picked another weekend to be out of town. ”

“Traveling through North Carolina, we found this place by just looking around on Google Maps. I am so glad we did. After booking, they called to verify the arrival time because the check-in desk closes at 5. While I thought this might be an issue because we were not going to get there until after 7 pm, they assured me it would not be and that there would still be someone on-site in case there were any issues. “We had a great experience, the owners John and Deb were very attentive at all times. The house is beautiful and the too we stayed in had everything we needed and more. We looking forward to staying with them again.Fun fact , we were all having breakfast around 8:30 , my wife and I with two more couples at the table and all of the sudden there was an 4.1 earthquake that shook the house , made the morning waking up very interesting. ”

“This was the perfect getaway spot. Easy access to main road, yet quiet, view from the deck is amazing, loved having a full kitchen and outdoor grill! the owners cat and dog treated us like long lost friends, we loved them! Highly recommend.”

“We really enjoyed our stay, the location was great and the cabin was comfortable, however the carpet in the bedrooms is pretty dated and stained. And the floor in the kitchen was sticky. All in all we enjoyed our stay and realize the difficulty of maintenance with multiple guest, so a different floor type could be considered besides carpet. ”

“I'd rate this 4 1/2 stars-- a great place to get away in the mountains and with beautiful views, but must keep in mind that you are getting a mountain cabin so without some of the luxuries. The good: a view to kill for, and with the sun and clouds turning it into constantly changing panorama; 15 minutes from hiking; very clean and comfortable; two very comfortable queen beds.
