“I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. Cook) and they built the cottage at 1019 S Lake Dr. They worked at the old hotel every summer for decades. My dad also worked there during his teen years and so did I. I loved the view of the park. “It was a very nice place to stay while visiting Chain O Lakes State Park. I stayed here with my father when we weren't hiking. The place is small, but efficient with its use of space. It was very clean, and the checkin/checkout processes were simple and easy.We were able to cook our own breakfast each morning, and relax on the couch and watch TV each evening.
