“The hotel is grand and getting on in years now. For instance the lift is ancient/quaint. However the room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel appeared to cater for a number of large coach parties so if you came down for breakfast at the wrong time the dining room was mobbed and you sometimes had to wait for some items. The staff were very pleasant and hard working and on occasion trying to keep up with the rush. Having said that overall we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel/Strathpeffer is……

“Pro: A beautiful historic building with a grand stair entrance and sky lights. Some rooms even have bed canopies. Comfortable bed, warm water and heating that you can adjust not much to complain about. Loved the contactless check in. Private showers, linen and towels included as well as free parking. Access to a shared full kitchen. Con: The building is beautiful but old and in need of some upkeep. It is a bit disheartening to see that some of the fixes had a strong DIY feel. ”

“Good: 1. Location is in main area. Just to find the room is little tricky as no board. 2. Room iscomfortable. 1 double bed, 1 single bed room. 3. Nice breakfast and receptionist is good approach. 4. “The hotel is in a lovely old building, next to a golf course and the coast, in a pretty village. My wife and I enjoyed our stay there. It is a quiet and comfortable hotel, with good dining. I could imagine sitting out on the front verandah on a warm day, with a cold drink in hand; a very pleasant place to be.”

“This is a great wee place to stay if you are stopping off or looking for some cheap and quick. The staff were amazing and super helpful. And offer use of the kitchen if I wanted to make some food. Honestly amazing! Also offered to make up a wee bag for breakfast as I was leaving early! I managed to get something before I left. Only thing I’ll say, the room could do a with a little TLC, the shower doors don’t close properly, the door handle is loose and the curtains need fixed slightly, but……

“The property is lovely this includes the grounds and the cottages. The service was not great. We had to call to inquire about breakfast no one let us know how this worked. We arrived to wait for about 15 minutes with the only two other guests at the hotel to have a sixteen year old boy wait on us. He didn’t know how to make coffee said he doesn’t drink it. Apparently he was left to his own devices at the house, we went into the kitchen twice looking for him to bring additional items. We were……
