“This hotel was a lovely place to stay for my 2 night trip - the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was cleaned very well each day, and the restaurant served a great mix of flavourful food.”
“I was just coming off a tour and had an extra night to spend in Arusha. Rather than spend the night in the tour hotel I decided to try Mc-Elly's for about 4x LESS the price. The area in the daytime is a bit chaotic (industrial area) but it's the real Africa not what I saw in the tour hotel. As soon as the sun goes down it was very quiet. Loved sitting out on my balcony. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and the manager of the hotel even greeted me asking me how I found everything. Nice……

“The place is what you pay for I guess. You'd think £60 would go farther in Tanzania but apparently not, Arusha is expensive.
Basically, rooms are like prison cells, bathrooms terrible, and it took a few tries to find a room with working aircon. Staff were friendly enough if a little inefficient.
What is with having to ask for toilet paper all the time - just have some in the room, its a basic necessity!!!”
“We stayed at Joshmal Hotel for one night, and had a good experience. The room was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly. We were leaving pretty early the following morning, so they arranged for breakfast to start a little earlier than usual, so we got to eat before we left.”
