“We loved this house, so much character. The owner was so sweet and helpful. We cooked and ate our meals here (you can even do a grocery pickup at the Kroger which is not far away). We loved listening to the river, and truly just enjoyed our stay. We would definitely come back!”

“This house was nicer than the photos! It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with implements to make a delicious surf and turf dinner. 1st floor bath had a wonderful shower and the queen beds were great. Host was very responsive and helpful. The view was breathtaking and the area had a lot to offer.”

“House was advertised. Clean and more than sufficient size wise. We only overnighted there as we were passing through to South Carolina but we certainly enjoyed exploring the house and it’s history. ”

“Pro: Beautiful area. New River Gorge is amazing. The house had everything you needed with a good layout. We couldn't have a fire due to the drought, but the firepit looked great. Also, because of the drought, the water levels were low but host provide 6 gallons of drinking water. Con: Directions to the property were not helpful and we had to call VRBO twice while driving around for an hour to figure out where to go. For future, please let guest know to follow the yellow arrow on the paved……

“The house was in a convenient location on a dead end street. Accessible to wide variety of hiking spots and restaurants. The house was exactly as described & pictured with all the amenities you would expect. Fenced in back yard for our dog was helpful. Nicely furnished, two showers (one walk-in), kitchen had all we needed, filtered water, no steps inside. Just outside steps to porch for those that might need to know. “Everything about this listing was accurate. The home is spotless, beautifully decorated, and a short drive to all the must-see spots in NRG. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and make our birthday girl feel special upon arrival. We were blown away by the kindness. “We spent a long weekend here for my husbands birthday. The house was perfect! Loved the decor and the hot tub! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make breakfast and dinner! I mean everything! The house was so cozy and in the best location!! Close to everything but still out of the busy areas! The host was so nice and informative. “What a find this place was! Loved the retro decor but with modern appliances and amenities. Very comfy beds and furniture, and lovely screened porch facing the woods. Mt. Hope is not much of a town but it’s located about halfway between the northern and southern ends of the NP which made for shorter drives in either direction to access trails. Both Beckley and Fayetteville are 15 minutes away where there are stores and restaurants for stocking up or eating meals out. This rental was such a great……

“The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we could not get the hot tub to work while we were there. The host was very communicative and the house was very clean and had all of the amenities listed. The game room turned out to be a gem that we didn’t expect to utilize as much as we did. Would definitely recommend this rental! ”
