“What a great find this was.... Originally I was looking for a nice hotel for the night as a little treat with my partner. Due to the Take That performing at Swansea.Com Stadium the same night. Hotel prices were sky high, nearly all had over doubled in price, some asking £400+. Than out of the blue I find this beauty..... Absolutely stunning views as far as the eye can see all round. Hot tub was amazing heated by a log burner. Comfortable seating area with a fire pit and bbq. The lake was massive……

“My first time here, friendly staff however the place could do with a complete update, the restaurant area in particular was quite dates, sticky tables, worn out chairs and dull decor, the gym and pool areas were pleasant as was my room.”

“We had a lovely 3 night stay at the hotel and eat there twice with 6 other friends. The service was excellent, from the booking process to the bar service and the waiting on in the restaurant. We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was lovely and quiet. The room was large and clean and we had no complaints. The food was superb on both nights and I would highly recommend the Chicken curry. The breakfasts were also excellent. It is worth noting the steps from the car park to the hotel but it……

“I’d give Melin Tregyb 5* for cleanliness and the room was large and airy with a very comfortable double bed. The owners were very quick to respond to emails but it would be comforting for me, as a solo traveller, to have an hour per day when the owners could be guaranteed to be in the building. ”

“Not a lot to see within walking distance of the hotel but a good base to explore the Brecon Beacons and the Welsh valleys.”

“Very clean and well equipped. Check in information good. Getting information on how to check out at 1:55 in the morning was less than helpful as it woke us up. We have to leave some alerts on as husband receives medical alerts overnight. It may not be a problem for those who can switch a do not disturb on. Also had to message to request an internet password for the medical monitoring. Owner was very helpful and provided it straight away but it would be helpful to have it available if internet is……

“Couldn’t fault the place in terms of it’s all we were looking for and needed - we’d go back if we were doing a similar trip. The room was spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly. Close to a shop and a short drive to the town and about half an hour to Cardiff. Only fault was the place is in need of a bit of a face lift, but overall, very happy with the place. ”
