“Beautiful hotel - lovely staff. Food excellent. Rather tricky to find and no lift which wasn’t clear on booking. Nonetheless had a lovely time and would happily return. ”
“This was a charming country house hotel, with friendly and professional staff. However the room was a huge disappointment. While sold as small bedroom nothing prepared us for how small. No room to sit or put anything. The small furniture had the appearance of having born bought in a jumble sale. A hotel which purports to be a quality country house hotel, with rates to match, should have no rooms like this so inconsistent with a 'Hotel of Distinction'. The bathroom extractor fan sounded like……
“Last minute break away with my son, staff very friendly and very helpful. Everything was there in the kitchen people were friendly and there were no issues.
However the only down side of the stay was the bed, it was solid, uncomfortable, and I awoke a couple of times in agony with my back. I'm not use to such a firm bed. ”
“Thus was such a lovely place.to stay with amazing seafront front views from our room. Very lucky to have sunny weathed which added to the enjoyment. Excellent welcome and attention to detail. ”
“Return stay. Stayed here many times over the last few years, always a warm and friendly welcome, good service, good food and nice rooms. Also, good for business travellers, breakfast available from 7.30, unlike so many country hotels.
The Wheatsheaf is ideally positioned for me to travel out in whatever direction my work takes me. ”
“Great price and room for the weekend. Only 3 dedicated parking spaces out front and if they're taken you have to move your vehicle every 2 hours around the square because of parking restrictions.
Stairs and passages are tidy but could do with an update.
Overall happy with the establishment.”
“Room was lovely and cosy, clean and did the job for our two day stay. TV was a bit hit or miss. Only one small mirror in bathroom but no electric socket near the bathroom for drying or straighening hair, mirror in actual bedroom would have been very beneficial.”
