“A lovely lodge/house that we stayed in. All the facilities was good. A very lovely location near the ski centre and its not too far from there. The kitchen had everything you need to cook for everyone. The only thing is that the bedrooms were very hot. There is floor heating which it kept at a very warm temperature. Which made the room too warm to sleep in. Even with the heatings were turned off in the room. But a very cosy and a great place to stay in. ”

“Really relaxing stay - the hotel is in a stunning Glen on the edge of the Caingorms with spectacular scenery. The staff were really helpful (all of them) and my evening dinner was great. I regret not staying for longer, but will be back. Only negative (but may be a positive) was the lack of a phone signal - although the wifi was great.”

“Gorgeous hotel in the centre of Ballater. Only 9 miles from Balmoral Castle, Crathie Kirk and various walks. Staff are so welcoming and accomodating. Tasteful Scottish decor with a modern twist. Beautifully decorated rooms, quiet location ensures peaceful sleep. Delicious, quality meals and breakfast. Atmospheric "Ghillies" bar, live fiddle music. We will definitely be back.”

“Such a fantastic place and hosts. Great home was uniquely modern with large rooms and excellent amenities. Beautiful views from our room. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast had everything. “I have booked bed& breakfast on expedia web. Paid money for it to find out is no brekfast that evening,only because needed to call maintenence guy....as tv broken down. Got an email few days pripor my arrival that bar/ pub is close from monday to Thursday from day i am coming and i need to use codes to get in as is no staff..... Better and better... Loud( every little noise from room above not allowing to sleep)Cold, mould in the corner, hand towel hanger almost off the wall and……

“Staff were friendly and helpful, location handy and beautiful, with red squirrels nearby and nesting house martins. My only suggestion would be that - as we should be reducing meat and dairy consumption for environmental reasons - vegetarian breakfast should be the norm.”

“Nothing but positive things to say about Sweet Donside Cabins. Cabins and facilities were spotlessly clean, TV beds very spacious and comfortable, with the attention to detail excellent. Hot tubs were clean and well maintained. Lots of extra touches including a welcome basket.”
