“Our room had recently been refurbished and may also have been an upgrade (ask for room numbers 10-16). Facilities and decor were excellent, with a walk-in shower, comfortable bed and free parking. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional so we would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Hotel.”

“Stayed over for one night passing through on a cycling trip. The host was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful storing and charging our bikes. Only open for B&B but fortunately the local tearoom opens on weekend evenings for meals. Well stocked community shop next door and community pub at the end of the street. Great village and area.”

“The apartment was very clean and comfortable and there was a couple of minor issues but when I contacted the owner he was straight on it immediately. I’d definitely recommend them. ”

“We had a great stay at our daughters wedding all the family in one large villa but still felt part of the hotel. Cars come and take you up to the hotel whenever you wish. Or the grounds are beautiful to walk up to the hotel. All the staff we met were amazing”

“Blackaddie is very comfortable country hotel. We stayed two nights in pheasant, and found the accommodation to be quite a very high standard. The bed was very large and comfortable but slightly firm. There is a lovely view over the garden towards the river. We ate in the hotel both evenings and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t busier as both meals were delicious. ”

“Lovely, historic boutique hotel in Ayr. Small, but nicely appointed room, convenient location. Near the beach, close to transportation, etc. Walked to a beautiful golf course, Belleisle, and played there on a spectacular sunny day. Enjoyed 2 breakfasts and dinners in their restaurant. Very pleased with our choice of accommodations. ”

They treated us marvelously, were welcoming, and made us feel right at home during our stay. The breakfast was absolutely the best. “This is a modern hotel in an historic house with a fantastic restaurant attached. Not sure if the two are owned by the same group but probably. The check in is all virtual, no hotel staff are on site, and it went smoothly however I did have to step outside to get a decent cellular signal in order to check in. Close to the railway station. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant. Highly recommended!”

“The Miller House Courtyard room was impeccable and comfortable. The hosts were kind, and the parking inside was easy. I really liked the town of Ayr and wish I could have stayed longer: the House is halfway between the charming town and the gorgeous beach - ie perfect location. ”

“Booked a last minute stay and was pleasantly surprised. A lovely traditional hotel with all the 'trimmings' - grand foyer & staircase, hotel dining room serving dinner as well as breakfast, lovely well appointed room. Pool was as you'd expect but fitness centre was above average with a greater range of equipment that is uusual in my experience. Dinner was ok, breakfast was excellent. Free parking on site. Located just off the beachfront.”

“This was our second stay at Barns and it not disappoint. The rooms are spotlessly clean, nice touch with the mini fridge with fresh milk and water. The street is very quiet, as are the rooms. Only 3 rooms but we didn’t hear or see anyone so we had the beautiful back terrace to ourselves, a little sun spot! Lovely large kitchen/dining area for your use but we ate out both nights. Would highly recommend.”
