“This hotel has now become a Premier Inn. We booked in March to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We received an email from Premier Inn saying they would honour our booking. This was not quite the case and we are still waiting to hear from Premier Inn. Having paid in full through Expedia, was told at reception on booking in that we haven't paid so a credit card was presented and payment taken (again) from that. When we checked out, I had the email confirmation from Expedia which stated it had been……

“Booked a last minute stay and was pleasantly surprised. A lovely traditional hotel with all the 'trimmings' - grand foyer & staircase, hotel dining room serving dinner as well as breakfast, lovely well appointed room. Pool was as you'd expect but fitness centre was above average with a greater range of equipment that is uusual in my experience. Dinner was ok, breakfast was excellent. Free parking on site. Located just off the beachfront.”

“We had a fantastic stay at Brig ODoon hotel, food was delicious & affordable. Staff we’re very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. My husband had a fantastic time in the spa bath 🛀 . The scenery was gorgeous, the nicest hotel we have ever been too.”

“The Miller House Courtyard room was impeccable and comfortable. The hosts were kind, and the parking inside was easy. I really liked the town of Ayr and wish I could have stayed longer: the House is halfway between the charming town and the gorgeous beach - ie perfect location. ”

They treated us marvelously, were welcoming, and made us feel right at home during our stay. The breakfast was absolutely the best. “This is a modern hotel in an historic house with a fantastic restaurant attached. Not sure if the two are owned by the same group but probably. The check in is all virtual, no hotel staff are on site, and it went smoothly however I did have to step outside to get a decent cellular signal in order to check in. Close to the railway station. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant. Highly recommended!”

“Lovely, historic boutique hotel in Ayr. Small, but nicely appointed room, convenient location. Near the beach, close to transportation, etc. Walked to a beautiful golf course, Belleisle, and played there on a spectacular sunny day. Enjoyed 2 breakfasts and dinners in their restaurant. Very pleased with our choice of accommodations. ”

“This was our second stay at Barns and it not disappoint. The rooms are spotlessly clean, nice touch with the mini fridge with fresh milk and water. The street is very quiet, as are the rooms. Only 3 rooms but we didn’t hear or see anyone so we had the beautiful back terrace to ourselves, a little sun spot! Lovely large kitchen/dining area for your use but we ate out both nights. Would highly recommend.”

“Having grown up in Ayrshire I am familiar with the location and in relation to the beach transport links and town centre, the property was brilliant value for money. However, the property itself was in a poorer than expected quality for the price of it. Prior to our arrival I was contacted to ask how I would like the flat made up, with there being 6 adults staying for the weekend I asked that the sofa bed would be made up and that the beds would be split into singles to accommodate this.……
