“The staff were very friendly & accommodating, always happy to answer any queries. The food was delicious in the restaurant. The only negative we had was the lack of bottled drinking water in the bedroom.”

However, the location after a business day is ideal and so many personal touches, including a welcome label on the door personal to you! “the room number 12 was located next to a busy road and garage the room was Hot with no air con , had a small fan but with the windows open found it difficult to sleep. the other window overlooked the back of the hotel with the refuse lorry arriving just after 6am. the overall score is reflected in the lack of sleep through noise. ”

“The room was beautiful. We had been to a wedding so they allowed late arrival back. The only feedback is they the room was stifling hot to enter. There wasn’t air conditioning but there was a fan they I was happy with. The pillows were so comfy and it was a luxurious stay. Would return. Breakfast was also delicious. ”

Being from rural area it was difficult understanding security but destails were very good, just our lack of ability. I did get locked in bathroom at 3 a.m. as when I tried to get out as the lock fell out of the door handle. After trying to phone my husband as I used the phone as a torch, I ended up knocking on the adjoining wall. He finally woke up and came and opened door - it waas……

“Amazing location. Quirky hotel but the cleanliness in our room was abysmal. Didn't stay for food as we went down into Matlock Bath which was in walking distance. The staff deserve full praise, they were really nice and attentive. ”
